Chute Out Meeting April, 2001

 Chute Out
Newsletter April 2001

Your Club Party this year was a roaring success and
only could have been better if Mother Nature had
cooperated.
Due to the unseasonable squalls we had to abandon our
Nojoqui Park reservation and move to Jack's
Memorabilia Palace, where delicious tid bits and
Bloody Marys were served. Those few who went to the
Park first said the Falls were outstanding, due to the
previous evenings rain. Will Scott and Tim Rochlitzer
went to the Park to post the "Moved to Jacks" sign and
the location of our site was super, too bad about the
weather.
At Jack's there were several albums that members had
brought (Dave Taylor, etc.) which had lots of old and
new time photos.
Matt held a short meeting reviewing the SCTA Board
goings on and set up the roster for Club Lakes Duty on
Sunday, April 29th, and El Mirage Days, Saturday May
5th and 6th. Jack Mendenhall then held up a super
picture sent by Richard Noble, in thanks for our help
at Black Rock, and brought up a tentative visit to
Edelbrock's in June. More on this at the May meeting.
We then broke for lunch, following which Gail
Phillips and Doug Odom held us spellbound with tales
and photos of their Australian trip (makes you want to
go there next year).
We did not take a roll call this meeting and were
sorry that some of you could not attend. The weather
played a big part but let me say this…not a soul who
was there didn't have a good time, and Gail and Doug's
trip recap was worth overcoming any obstacles to being
there. Pictures are on www.oilstick.com under Chute
Out April 2001
Those of you who have not renewed your dues this is
the last newsletter you will be getting. We have
attached a note to those who are delinquent as a
reminder. We hope you will remain a club member.
A final note, Wes and Wendy Hutchins and their boys
braved the weather and came to the Party. Larry
Pederson had them stay at his spread and the boys got
to ride a tractor and experience all the other (muddy)
fun things done at his ranch. A little Visine and Wes
looked(?) fine the next day.
