Matt gave a rundown on the March 2nd SCTA Board meeting:
A) Rule Books will be out March 15th and club members
to get theirs at the Picnic.
B) SCTA Dues are still $60.00 (renewal) with the
following Club Members belonging. Matt Williams, Fred
Iaia, Will Scott, Tim Rochlitzer, Wende Hutchins, Tom
Stewart, Brian Rochlitzer, Bob and Carla McDonald,
Mike Mendoza and possibly Terry Hunt. When Tom
McDonald starts to drive he will join. Any other Club
members who need to join SCTA (either as owner or
driver) please contact the Club at 800 650-4600.
C) The Coupe/Sedan classes re-shuffle was shelved for
a later Board meeting.
D) El Mirage has water, but also has sinkholes. All
Clubs may have to come out for a giant course repair
party. A reminder that Gold Coast has course
preparation on April 28th.
E) The Friends of El Mirage Lake repair was discussed
and will take place May 5th. This is for the whole El
Mirage Lake area, not just the racecourse. Club
representation is greatly urged with sign up at the
East end BLM office at 8am.
F) Inspectors meeting at the Wooden/Walkey hanger, at
Whitman airport, will be April 7th from 11am to 3pm.
Any interested please contact the Club office at the
800 number.
G) Bonnieville salt pumping is in progress and has 1
more year. Meetings are up-coming with BLM and Riley
Corp. to negotiate for more into the future.

The Club Picnic (Gold Coast Club members with their
guests only) will be at Nojoqui Falls Park [clicking on blue will give you a map of the park], Saturday April 7th, starting at 11:00am. We hope all members can attend but for those who cannot please call us at
800 650-4600 ASAP so we can schedule the proper
amounts of food and drink. This Newsletter and a map
of the park will be at  www.OILSTICK.com  under Chute Out Newsletter March 2001. Might also be some pictures of the park.
The Club then revised the Previously Mentioned Names
(used to be Past Nominees) for this years Hall of Fame
awards. This list was finalized and will be put in the
mail by the 15th of this month. Ballots must be
returned by May 7th to be counted on the 8th.
The following e-mail from Gail Phillips in Aussie
land was read;
"We have made it to Adelaide with no troubles (to
speak of) and the crew has worked on the car for the
last two days in a nice, cool trucking warehouse with
a view of the water. They fired it up today, so it is
basically ready. Gail and Al spent one whole day just
putting new decals back on and now it looks like a
real racecar. The people are even nicer than people
have already said, generous to a fault, loaning the
shirt off their backs to help out. The weather has
been great, cool breeze and everything. We are gearing
up for the flies, snakes, scorpians, spiders and
kangaroos too! All is going exceptionally well so that
must be a bad sign but we are taking the Aussie
philosophy of "no worries" so are ready for anything.
Gail, The secretary: navigator, decal detailer, and
all round troubleshooter (I want to shoot the guys
breathing over my shoulder as I type this at a coffee
shop)".

See you at the party!!!
